To ensure your carefully chosen rug retains its aesthetics and quality for years to come, we recommend following these simple care tips.
Daily Care and General Use
- Vacuuming: To avoid damaging the texture of your carpet, protect it from harsh treatments such as beating or kicking . For periodic cleaning, simply use the brushless (flat) attachment of your vacuum cleaner.
- Furniture Marks: To prevent heavy furniture (sofas, coffee tables, cabinets, etc.) from leaving permanent marks on your carpet, we recommend rotating the furniture periodically. You can also vacuum these areas with a brushless head to revitalize the pile (fibers) where the furniture touches.
Emergency: Stain Removal
- Immediate Response: When a liquid is spilled on your carpet, it's crucial to act quickly to prevent the stain from becoming permanent.
- Absorption: To prevent the stain from spreading, gently blot away excess spilled liquid with a paper towel or clean cloth, without pressing down .
- Cleaning: Absolutely do not use harsh chemicals such as bleach during this process. After removing excess liquid, use a solution prepared with cold water and natural (white) soap.
- Cleaning Method: Dampen a clean cloth with this solution and gently wipe the stain , always in the direction of the pile (the direction the fibers lie) . Avoid circular motions or harsh rubbing against the direction of the pile, as this may spread the stain.
- Drying: Be careful not to step on the cleaned area until it is completely dry.
Professional (Deep) Cleaning
- Expert Help: For periodic deep cleaning of your carpet, seek support from professional carpet cleaning companies specializing in this area.
- Important Warnings for the Carpet Cleaner: Be sure to tell the company that they must not use sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) or similar harsh chemicals during the cleaning process, as these can damage the carpet's fibers.
- Instructions: Avoid using stiff brushes during washing, and ensure the carpet is completely free of all cleaning agents during the rinsing phase.
- Drying: After cleaning, the carpet should be dried quickly by laying it flat (on the floor) and avoiding direct sunlight. Never use your carpet before it is completely dry, and protect it from direct sunlight while it is wet.
